FraudBlawg Update: Ritecare Employee Lobato Faces Up to 10 Year Sentence

April 19, 2010

Hans Lobato — the man who gave the money to Ritecare patient-recruiters to troll downtown areas for people so destitute that they’d sell access to their Medicare numbers and submit themselves to unnecessary tests and nerve-conduction studies — has pled guilty and faces up to 10 years in prison at a July 23, 2010 sentencing.  FraudBlawg previously reported the Ritecare scam here.  All told, the healthcare fraud cost taxpayers approximately $5.3 million.
