EG&G Pays Near $2M For Alleged Aircraft Fraud

May 28, 2009

EG&G Technical Services paid $1.8 million for allegedly overbilling the U.S. Air Force for nonexistent aircraft parts, reports Reuters:

Between 1997 and 2004, EG&G paid Danco for more than $776,000 in parts that were already in inventory or were never delivered, then submitted fraudulent bills totaling more than $860,500 to the Air Force under a contract that included a fixed profit, prosecutors said.

The settlement puts to rest a qui tam whistleblower complaint that was filed in 2007. The whistleblower who filed the suit will receive over $300,000 for reporting the alleged fraud.
